In January, my lovely brother Alan sent me a YouTube video of Laura Marling singing “New Romantic”. I’d never heard of her. Her music is unusual and quirky. I saw her on the BBC’s “Culture Show” a couple of weeks or so ago. I was still impressed. I’ve been listening to more of her music since then and think she’s going to feature regularly on my i-Pod from now on.

She has a haunting voice (reminiscent of Joni Mitchell, don't you think?) and I like the New Romantics video, but some of the others are a bit disturbing.
Agree about the other rather weird videos. I'm still trying to work out exactly who she reminds me of (although I think she is somewhat unique?)... yes, sort of Joni M, but I hope to come up with another name before too long!
maybe Eddi Reader? perhaps Juliet Turner? I'm still not there yet! Help!
